Wise.
From the wisdom of Stephen Downes:
We are told repeatedly – most recently by President Obama – that we should watch out what we put in Facebook, because future employers may be looking. My own advice – that we should refrain from actually doing stupid things – doesn’t get any airplay; people are far more concerned about the recording of stupid things than the doing of them.
There’s more on this in Alan Levine’s Falsebook post. But my point here is this… focus on the problem, not the picture of the problem.

Long before Obama was president, Mom always said, (And STILL says to me occasionally…) “The world is small, behave yourself!” And hey Mom, the world is growing ever smaller! Hopefully there are Moms and Dads like mine that are passing these words of wisdom down. The power of good parenting can positively change the world!
That’s another great point. What’s really interesting is that Alan talks about putting on a great persona on-line that doesn’t reflect who or what someone is really like. So, students might not necessarily put content on-line of stupid things they do or say creating a false identity. Transparency is key here. We need to teach/raise our children humbleness and how they can use their spaces to pose questions, explore new ideas and share not just success but struggles.
